AlZiyana

The context

AlZiyana sells authentic Moroccan skincare into the UAE market — pure argan oil, beldi black soap, floral waters, and botanical oils sourced from Morocco and shipped to Dubai and beyond. The build had to feel editorial, not template-y, so the brand could charge premium prices without being confused with the endless commodity storefronts in the same category.

The problem

• Natural skincare is dominated by ecommerce templates that all look identical — same hero photo, same “Shop Now” button, same product card.
• Customers pay a premium for authenticity — the site had to convey origin (Morocco), craft, and ingredient story from the first scroll.
• Product photography leans on soft, editorial styling — the storefront had to match, not dilute it.
• UAE shipping expectations differ from US/EU norms: fast local delivery, familiar payment methods (Apple Pay, Google Pay, AMEX, Visa/Mastercard), and clear communication in both English and Arabic.

What we built

• Custom Shopify Liquid theme built from a Figma design — no Dawn-with-a-logo-swap, no page-builder bloat.
• Editorial product pages with generous product photography, ingredient stories, and how-to-use guidance for each SKU.
• Judge.me reviews wired into product pages, with tier text, photo review support, and a coupon-on-review flow.
• Cart drawer + checkout tuned for UAE payment expectations — Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, AMEX all available at first paint.
• Fast Shopify CDN delivery so product photography loads instantly even on hotel Wi-Fi across the Emirates.

Technical decisions

• Shopify Liquid custom theme — pixel-faithful to the Figma without a page builder.
• Judge.me reviews with coupon-on-review flow to grow social proof.
• Editorial PDP template with reusable ingredient/story blocks so new products drop into the same rhythm.
• Multi-currency and multi-language support for regional buyers.
• Shopify Payments + local wallet integrations for the UAE checkout experience.

The outcome

A skincare storefront that reads like an editorial and converts like a store — with delivery and checkout expectations UAE buyers now consider table stakes. Product pages have room to tell an ingredient story without slowing the path to cart.
