I get asked about hosting on almost every project. After building 120+ websites across WordPress, Shopify, and Next.js, I have a short list of hosting providers I actually use and recommend. These are affiliate partnerships — I earn a commission if you sign up through the links below, at no extra cost to you.

Managed Cloud

Cloudways

  • Server-level caching (sub-2s loads)
  • One-click staging environments

How I Choose Hosting for Client Projects

Not every project goes on the same host. Here is how I decide:

WordPress or WooCommerceCloudways on DigitalOcean or Vultr. Best performance-to-cost ratio for PHP sites.
ShopifyHosting is included in your Shopify plan. No separate hosting needed.
Next.js or ReactVercel for frontend, with a VPS for the API layer if needed.
Static marketing sitesVercel, Netlify, or Cloudflare Pages. Free tier is usually enough.
High-traffic WordPressCloudways on AWS or Google Cloud, or a dedicated VPS with CloudPanel.

If you are not sure which hosting setup is right for your project, get in touch and I will recommend the right stack based on your traffic, budget, and technical requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you earn a commission from these links?

Yes. The links on this page and the partner sub-pages are affiliate links. I earn a commission if you sign up through them. This does not affect the price you pay. I only recommend services I actually use on client projects.

Can you set up hosting for me?

Yes. If you hire me for a website project, hosting setup and configuration is included. If you just need help setting up hosting without a full website build, I can do that as a standalone service — request a quote.

What if I already have hosting?

If your current host performs well and your site loads in under 3 seconds, there is no reason to switch. I only recommend a hosting change when performance is a bottleneck or when the current setup cannot support the project requirements.
